What: Game demonstration hosted by Select-Start member Aaron Trammell. This meeting will be a demonstration of Aaron’s own game, and a practical workshop for GSO members interested in designing and developing their own digital and analog games. Participants in this meeting will also discuss how to use games in the classroom as an adjunct to regular lesson plans.

What: Welcome back social for returning Select-Start members and recruitment session for new members. Members will meet and informally discuss their ongoing research projects and current issues in Game Studies in a round table setting. New and returning members will also discuss the GSO’s plans for the upcoming semester, including upcoming discussion sessions and research chats, in which members meet to rehearse formal presentations in preparation for upcoming conferences or job talks.
There will be free pizza and drinks!

Monday, December 8th from 4:30-6:00pm in the Faculty Lounge (room 323) in the SC&I
building. Select Start is a graduate student organization in the service of the academic Game
Studies community where students come together to share their thoughts on games and academic
research and discuss the latest gaming-related issues.
